2. Application
Parents are asked to complete and submit the application form to Kinderssori Academy along with a $100 non-refundable payment to confirm a spot within the program.
Our goal is to accept families with values that are compatible with our curriculum, methodologies, and philosophy.

Observations are encouraged and may be scheduled through the Directress/Lead teacher. Parents are asked to refrain from visiting the classroom during the sensitive weeks of school when students are still adjusting to classroom routines. Observations may be arranged anytime after October 15th, and parents are provided with a handbook to maximize the time spent with us.
Please remember the teachers will be focused on the students and may not have time to speak with you. It is also important that your presence does not disrupt the natural rhythm of the classroom. When in class, we ask parents to refrain from making comments, correcting, or helping the children. To limit the novelty of your visit, you will be asked to sit in a designated visitor’s chair in the classroom. A great deal may be learned by patient and quiet observation of your child at work.
Students are formally welcomed to class each day, and shake a teacher’s hand. We end our session with the same ritual, a handshake and thank you for the work your child has done. Lessons in “grace and courtesy” are the cornerstone of the Montessori Method.
At Kinderssori Academy we believe the arts to be an important part of our curriculum. New research reveals what educators have known for intuitively for many years; exposure to the arts helps students build self-confidence, express their creativity, and perform better in math and reading.
ART/CRAFT Kinderssori students have access to a wide variety of art materials and are free to paint, sculpt, color or sketch daily. Through art, children learn to value their own uniqueness and to appreciate the individuality of others. The teachers choose an appropriate craft to complete on a weekly basis and one art project which coordinates with the monthly theme. By teaching the children a new technique each art piece will be a unique and true representation of the students' newly acquired skill.
FRENCH To compete as adults, we believe our students should have the opportunity to explore a language other than their own. By teaching French through oral instruction, song, and rhyme, our students will develop an ability in, and understanding of, basic conversational French. All themes and units we explore in English are also covered in French to help create a strong foundation for learning.
MUSIC Newspapers and magazines are filled with reports of how young children will perform better in reading and math if they attend an active music and movement program. At Kinderssori Academy we also believe this research and incorporate music into the classroom daily as well as through formal instruction. Our music class introduces children to perform beat, rhythm, and pitch activities as well as learn songs and how to play instruments. With these new-found skills, our students will perform a Christmas and Year-end concert for your listening pleasure!
MOVEMENT Every week the children have the opportunity to learn new skills in the art of movement. Each class will reflect on the classroom theme and students will learn new techniques to improve coordination, rhythm, balance and new ways to move about. Each month children will be introduced to music from different cultures and different dances from around the world. The children will prepare and perform at three concerts for your viewing pleasure.
CULINARY APPRECIATION Food is a part of our everyday rituals and at Kinderssori we see the opportunity and value in teaching children this practical life skill. At Kinderssori the children prepare the snack for their fellow classmates with the supervision of a teacher. Through this process our students learn the importance of cleanliness, how to count, order, organization, confidence and pride of ownership. Through this process children are more willing to try new foods and will hopefully become an asset in your kitchens at home!
